Engaged: Hannah and Andrew

I had a little engagement photo shoot about a month ago for two of my college friends, Hannah and Andrew. Go check out my photos and slideshow on my photography blog!

Family Photos

I met up with the C family the other weekend for a photo shoot in their backyard. We had a lot of fun playing under the willow tree, rolling around in the grass, and since they live right on a little pond we got some great photos hanging out on the dock. I hadn't seen little A since she was just a few months old, so it was a real treat to see how she has developed into an adorable one year old - who is just starting to stand on her own! R is such an energetic and curious boy - showing me snails he caught in the pond, gathering up the biggest sticks he could find, and swinging from the branches of the willow. No one can make A laugh like her big brother. Just about all the smiles you see in the photos below are thanks to him! C family, I hope you enjoyed the photo shoot as much as I did!

Enjoy the slideshow! (If your computer can handle it you can up it to 1080p HD with the little button at the bottom that appears once the video starts. And I recommend getting rid of that ugly ad that appears across the bottom).

The Oberles

Here are a few photos I took of our good friends Marit and Tim earlier this fall. They are fellow St. Olaf '06 grads, got engaged the day after us, were married two weeks before us, and live 1.5 miles away from our new house in Minneapolis! Needless to say, we've enjoyed sharing in each others' lives, through dinner parties, coffee dates, cross country skiing outings, relaxing at the lake, and spontaneous pop-ins! They are wonderful friends and a fantastic couple (with the cutest house imaginable!). Here's a peak into the lives of the Oberles:

(I am still working out the kinks to incorporating a little logo with my photos, so please excuse any imperfections you may notice... like blurry and pixelated text. I also made a slideshow with a selection of some of my favorite photos and am in the process of figuring out how best to show that -- for free. So more updates may be coming soon!)

Cousins

Rolling through the 'vacant lot'
Happy summer days

Spurred from Jenna's blog post calling for Haiku entries, I decided to take a stab at the short Japanese poem. Above is a photo I took in Rapid City, South Dakota of three of my cousins as they enjoyed a good 10-minute laugh-a-thon in my grandparent's yard.

Girls of Rand 220 Photos

To view all 79 photos of Sarah and her roommates taken earlier this fall, go to:

http://picasaweb.google.com/carolyn.pierson/GirlsOfRand220?authkey=6BTyneuCik0#
OR
http://cpiersonphotography.shutterfly.com/

(just copy and paste it into a new browser page or tab as I can't figure out how to turn it into a direct link - sorry!)

The first link provides a better slideshow (quality of image) but the second is a little more fun. It just happens to distorts the images ever so slightly, turning them pixel-y. I'm pretty sure they'll look fine if you order prints, they just look poor on their website (or maybe my eyes are just too sensitive). If you view the slideshow, I recommend changing the settings to the fastest speed (under Options at the top), and making the background color black - it looks the best this way. Still trying to figure out the best (and cheapest) slideshow method to put directly in my blog... I'm almost there!

ps - whenever I figure out the best way to make a slideshow with music this is going to be accompanied by Free Falling by John Mayer... so if you have it, play it while viewing. It is one of the girls' favorites! Or play any other song you like... pictures are always better with music : )
